Forget buying me a birthday beer but rather donate the cost of the beer
Ada Cuciuc Asociatia Zi de Bine
My friends, around the world, near and dear,
As some of you may know my birthday is coming up. As all of you know, I’m not one to ever expect a single gift. The gift of your friendship is all I need to sustain me in life. I’m a minimalist to say the least.
Participating in an exchange in person or virtually via social media or messaging with you always brightens my day. If it were in person something tells me many of you might offer to buy me a beer. I want you to not do so this time around. I have a request: forget buying me a beer but rather donate the cost of the beer and help build a hydrokinetic therapy pool for kids with neuro-motor development diagnosis. More about the project here (you'll have to use Google Translate if you don't speak Romanian).
With heartfelt appreciation,
Ada

Try to grab a glass of water. Easy, isn’t it? What if lifting a glass of water would take you above ten minutes and by the time it reaches your mouth, the glass is almost empty... Could you ever imagine this?
For a kid diagnosed with hereditary spastic paraparesis, grabbing a glass of water could take months of exercise, whilst every finger clenching is pure pain. Long, tiresome physiotherapy sessions are a huge burden for the family budget. For them and for many other kids with neuro-motor development diagnosis, we are building a hydrokinetic therapy pool.
